The Dental Wellness Plan and Medicaid are government funded programs that aids qualified individuals with their dental care. The Iowa Department of Human Services manages the Medicaid and DWP programs that is funded by the federal and state government.

To qualify for one of these insurance programs, participants must meet certain requirements to receive coverage. Here is a list of some requirements in order to qualify:

• U.S. citizen who is a resident of Iowa
• Children that are less than 19 years old
• Parents living with a child that is less than 18 years old
• Adults between the ages of 19 and 64 who have an income level that is at or below 133% of the Federal Poverty Level
• Women who are pregnant
• Women who have breast cancer or cervical cancer
• Elderly people who are 65 years or older
• Disabled people (based on Social Security qualifications)
